HED recently collaborated with vXchnge, a young data center colocation company seeking to establish industry leadership by providing innovative, customized, secure and reliable computer environments.
A central part of our work was developing global branding guidelines to be implemented in all vXchnge facilities. At the time of our collaboration, vXchnge was in the midst of expanding their portfolio by establishing new locations within existing buildings in key cities. One such facility is the new Philadelphia Data Center. Located on the fifth floor of a downtown high-rise building, the existing space presented many challenges for the data center fit-out including low floor-to-floor height, limited structural capacity of the floors and connecting infrastructure equipment on the roof and basement.
Our design team overcame these challenges to achieve an efficient layout. The 50,000 SF space maximizes IT cabinets and aligns with the customer experience identified in HED's global branding guidelines.
