A global insurance provider based in Japan, Sompo International chose to relocate their Chicago office to better respond to employee growth. Drawn to the building's quality and outstanding amenities and programming, Sompo chose to occupy a full floor in the iconic tower located at 155 N. Wacker. HED was hired to complete the design and implementation of the build-out on behalf of Sompo. Working with Sompo’s real estate team, their standards were implemented while making sure to adapt them to this location and the building’s particulars.
The space features a hospitality suite with a secure reception area and boardroom to host client meetings. All private offices and workstations are standardized to fit their growth needs and a large café is designed for nourishment and socializing as well as to host special events for staff. Drawing inspiration from traditional shoji screens and the Chicago skyline, the backdrop for the reception desk is visible from the elevator lobby and anchors their logo.
