The Science and Innovation Center combines administration functions with centralized, state-of-the-art science, innovation, and media arts teaching spaces for the girl's and boy's divisions of Regis Jesuit High School, creating a new campus gateway. The two-story facility features an “inverted corridor” design, consisting of a perimeter corridor that surrounds the primary teaching spaces at the interior of the building. This approach allows for the grouping of science and prep labs while still providing abundant views of nearby mountains. The exterior corridors contain informal breakout spaces for collaboration and student presentations. A multi-story, clerestory-lit main lobby includes student display areas, views into the innovation lab space, and a grand stair that doubles as “learning steps”.
