HED has a lasting relationship with El Capitan High School, having completed the school's master plan and then continuing work with the district. The modernization includes upgrades to Buildings 500, 1300 and 1500. The upgrades include full seismic rehabilitation and interior enhancements to accommodate classrooms, a library, E-sports lab, special education classrooms, CTE maker space with an outdoor yard, and extra storage facilities. Additionally, exterior improvements included accessible paths of travel, asphalt paving, and additional accessible parking spaces.
