Investmenting in a recovering region.
A headquarters that reflects history, and looks to the future.
When Auch Construction opted to relocate its company headquarters to Pontiac, Michigan, they not only tapped into the city’s renewed energy and growth—they further advanced revitalization and investment opportunities in the area.

The design of the new headquarters reflects the 109-year-old contracting firm’s pride in its history, commitment to investing in its surrounding community and company culture of openness, inclusion and evolution. Within a large, high-ceilinged loft space, an open interior supports visual and operational connections between team members and encourages mentoring, a key pillar of company culture. Easily accommodating Auch’s current 65-person staff with room to grow, the new headquarters also reflects employees’ commitment to sustainability, and is on track for LEED Gold certification upon completion.

Transforming a formerly contaminated brownfield site, the new development sits at a prominent intersection, marking the eastern gateway into Pontiac and serving as a symbol of reinvestment, revitalization and renewal in a recovering region.

HED collected extensive employee feedback on the design approach and it is reflected in the new headquarters with a convenient downtown location and sustainable design elements throughout.
A key priority of the new headquarters is attracting and retaining new talent—particularly during a period of diminished interest in building trades.
The large, high-ceilinged loft space generously accommodates Auch’s current 65-person staff with room for continued growth.
The 109-year-old general contracting firm’s facility is 20,000-square-foot and sits on 3.66 acres of land.
In anticipation of a 15% increase in staff, the design includes space for future expansion.
What was really important to us was our employees. We're doing this for our current and future employees so that we can maintain them.”
